The e-cigarette issue has taken on more urgency. President Donald Trump hosted a meeting in the White House with vaping and tobacco industry lobbyists and anti-tabacco activists on Friday. The session was called amid reports of soaring vaping-related lung illnesses .White House spokesman Judd Deere stated that the policy making process was not done yet, and Trump wanted to hear all sides.
Judd Deere stated: “This meeting will allow the President and other Administration officials an opportunity to hear from a large group, representing all sides as we continue to develop responsible guidelines that protect the public health and the American people.” President Trump signaled that he is walking back a long-delayed proposal to remove all flavored e-cigarettes from the market.
The President stated: “You watch prohibition,” if you don’t give it to them, it is going to come here illegally. .. They could be selling something on a street corner that could be horrible. .. They are going to have a flavor that is poison.”
