The death toll due to the new coronavirus in China has risen to 2000. That is an increase of 132 compared to the previous day.
The total number of Chinese cases infected by the coronavirus, first identified in Wuhan, capital of Hubei province China, rose on Tuesday by almost 1700 to more than 74.000, reports the provincial health service. 61.600 of those infections are in Hubei. Outside China, several hundred people are still infected with the virus, bringing the total number of infections worldwide to more than 75,000.
United Nations Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said the COVID-19 outbreak is not yet out of control, but it has become a “very dangerous situation”.
