President Trump’s Lawyers Will Not Participate in Impeachment Hearings

President Donald Trump is not sending any lawyers to the Impeachment Hearings of the House of Representatives on December 4th. The committee will meet on Wednesday because of the investigation into the impeachment hearings and had given the White House until midnight on Sunday to let them know if President Trump or a lawyer is present.

The president’s advisor Pat Cipollone wrote to the committee saying that Trump’s team “we cannot fairly be expected to participate in a hearing while the witnesses are yet to be named and while it remains unclear whether the Judiciary Committee will afford the President a fair process through additional hearings”.

Two weeks ago, “witnesses” were heard by the intelligence committee. The investigation concerns a “quid pro quo proposal” made by Trump to the Ukrainian President Volodimir Zelenski. So far, none of the so called witnesses have been able to provide evidence. It’s all been hearsay and people that make up their own stories. President Trump would only resume military aid to Ukraine if Zelenski investigated Trump’s political rival Joe Biden. The transcripts have been released and show no quid pro quo proposal.

The hearing must show whether the President’s actions justify an investigation into the deposition. The hearing is mainly attended by legal specialists.
