President Trump tweeted that the proposal on Saturday night by Dems to build a six-mile-long sea wall around New York is “costly, foolish and environmentally unfriendly.” A six-mile-long barrier would help protect the city from floodwaters during fierce storms like Sandy, but critics say rising seas make the option inadequate.
“A massive 200 Billion Dollar Sea Wall, built around New York to protect it from rare storms, is a costly, foolish & environmentally unfriendly idea that, when needed, probably won’t work anyway. It will also look terrible. Sorry, you’ll just have to get your mops & buckets ready!”
The tweet led to a flurry of responses by climate change fanatics, mocking the president with references to his rhetoric about the wall at the U.S.-Mexico border, which were ignored by President Trump.
