The Iowa 2020 Democratic primary debate at Drake University in Des Moines, between Joe Biden, Elizabeth Warren, Bernie Sanders, Pete Buttigieg, Amy Klobuchar and Tom Steyer was a disaster for the Dem camp.
Even before a Democrat faces President Donald Trump in the battle for the White House on November 3, his potential challengers appear to be sabotaging themselves. Instead of debating issues that really matter to voters, it was again about gender issues. They focused most of their attacks on President Trump, instead off debating important issues among themselves.
The old and still fraught issue: can a woman become president of the United States also dominated last night’s debate, which question was already answered with the candidacy of Hillary Clinton, four years ago. Was it because she was the elite candidate? Or did Hillary lose just because she was a woman and America wasn’t ready?
